Deming and the surrounding area have a working-age (18-64) population of 148 thousand. Locally, our community has individuals with expertise in agriculture, manufacturing, and food processing. 

Deming has a state-of-the-art High School and a branch of Western New Mexico University that partners with our employers in preparing our youth for the next generation of jobs.

Deming is home to the largest jalapeno processor in the US,  Olam Chile Peppers LLC ; the largest winery in the State, DH Lescombe's Family Winery; and the only custom manufactured home builders in the US, Solitaire Manufactured Homes.  Deming has some of the largest agricultural producers such as: Billy the Kid Produce, Carzalia Valley Produce, Red Mountain Produce, and J&D Produce.

Deming-Luna County also has robust existing renewable energy industry leaders with the Macho Springs Farm and Alta Luna Project. We have untapped potential for more renewable development. We have two proposed transmission lines for our community: Sun Zia and Southline. 

Deming has a municipal public airport with an 8,000 ft. runway.   A conference room with a capacity of 70 is provided for the use of the traveling businessman. Over 10,000 square feet of hangar space is available for transient aircraft and an up-to-date 5,000 square foot repair facility is available with two A/I's leading a factory trained staff. 

Deming parallels Interstate-10 and is the mid-point between Los Angeles Ports and Houston, TX. 

The Peru Mill Industrial Park consists of approximately 1,500 acres and a 1,400 ft. rail spur.

 The only 24-hour international Port of Entry lies 30 miles South of Deming city limits and crosses an average of 664,000 north-bound commercial, personal, and pedestrian traffic. 

The City of Deming has water rights available for sale or lease. and over 2000 acres of industrial park land between the Peru Mill and South Industrial Park.

Deming is recognized as an accredited community of the American Association of Retirement Communities since 2015.

Time Magazine released that Luna County was the 7th safest county to live in regarding natural disasters.
