Deming and the surrounding area have a working-age (18-64) population of 14 thousand. Locally, our community has individuals with expertise in agriculture, manufacturing, and food processing. 


Deming has a state-of-the-art High School and a branch of Western New Mexico University that partners with our employers in preparing our youth for the next generation of jobs.

Deming, Luna County plays a significant role in agriculture through several generational farms and ranches that have adapted and persevered through the years.  


Deming-Luna County also has robust existing renewable energy industry leaders with the Macho Springs Farm and Alta Luna Project. 


  1. Air - Deming has a municipal public airport with an 8,000 ft. runway.   A conference room with a capacity of 70 is provided for the use of the traveling businessman. Over 10,000 square feet of hangar space is available for transient aircraft and an up-to-date 5,000 square foot repair facility is available with two A/I's leading a factory trained staff. 
  2. Interstate - Deming parallels Interstate-10 and is the mid-point between Los Angeles Ports and Houston, TX. 
  3. Rail - The City of Deming owns a 1,400 ft. rail spur in the Peru Mill Industrial Park. Dual-service opportunities available. 
  4. Land - The City of Deming has approximately 1,500 acres of developable land with access to water rights.
