Our goals & Initiatives

Wheres our focus

One of the most tangible measurements of economic development is job creation.  DLCED is focused on creating jobs in our community.

It is important to understand that in order to create jobs, several other factors have to come together.

  • Livability- people have to want to live in your community which means there have to be quality housing, amenities, access to services, healthcare, housing, quality education, and recreational activities.
  • Available Workforce- there has to be a population to support job growth
  • Existing Business Climate- existing businesses are a critical piece of economic development. Not only do they support the local tax base, but a thriving business climate makes for an advantageous opportunity for relocating/expanding businesses.

DLCED takes an all encompassing approach in strategically working on projects that will bring value to these key elements of economic development.
